A 72-year-old man in western Nepal is hoping to prove to Guinness World Records that he is the shortest person on the planet.
With a height of only 56cm, Mr. Chandra Bahadur Dangi claims to be the shortest person in the world.
Chandra Bahadur Dangi claims he is only 56cm tall. Meanwhile, the Guinness Book of World Records currently records Junrey Balawing, a Filipino national, as the shortest person in the world with a modest height of 60cm.
The Associated Press quoted Mr. Dangi’s nephew – Dolak Dangi as revealing that his uncle will meet with Guinness officials in the capital city of Katmandu in the next few days to have his height measured.
Mr. Dangi wants to meet officials from the Guinness World Organization to measure and verify his height.
However, the Guinness World Organization has not yet officially responded to this information.
Another Nepalese citizen – Khagendra Thapa Magar – once held the title of shortest in the world with a height of 67cm, before being usurped by Mr. Balawing from the Philippines on his 18th birthday last June.
Until Dangi’s family’s claims are verified, let’s admire some daily photos of the old man who wants to be honored as the world’s shortest person:
Except for his extremely modest height, Mr. Dangi still has a normal life like many other people.
